Pregnancy Massage, Aromatherapy and Reflexology are Holistic treatments a mum-to-be can really benefit from.
Finding time to relax in pregnancy is invaluable and essential to both mother and baby’s wellbeing. This special time can help give a woman time to focus on the miracle she is making and nurture the bond she is developing with her unborn baby.
Pregnant ladies may experience backache, neck and shoulder pain, pelvic pain, swelling in their legs and ankles, carpal tunnel syndrome in their wrists, and insomnia. There is a lot of preparation needed for the baby’s arrival but equally, a mother needs to prepare her own body for her forthcoming birth experience, and massage can assist in this.
Taking time out for a pregnancy massage not only helps to ground you, it can help you bond with your baby, as you are able to fully focus on the baby’s arrival and enjoy the remaining time you are nurturing and growing your little one.
Massage is good for baby too. During your pregnancy massage, you release hormones as a result of skin stimulation, which brings about relaxation and calmness so your baby will feel more chilled out aswell.
There are several types of massage treatments you can choose. I offer options for 45, 60 and 90 minute pregnancy massages and also Aromatherapy and Indian Head massage and Reflexology Treatments.
Nina Parnham is a practicing Midwife and experienced therapist, who tailors the pregnancy treatment to your specific needs, whether it be for relaxation, targeting back pain or tightness in your shoulders, helping with constipation, stress or swelling.
“I Enjoyed the most amazing pregnancy massage yesterday evening in the pregnancy nest. Nina was amazing and it was without a doubt the best massage I have had, also being able to lay on your front felt like heaven. It was also so reassuring to know that you are in safe hands as Nina is so knowledgeable and experienced. She also gave me some advice and exercise to do for a muscle niggle that I have been experiencing. My treatment was exactly what I needed with less than 2 weeks till my due date. I hope to be visiting Nina again once baby is here for some further treatments”. Angela
“Nina is amazing. She is filled with knowledge from Midwifery, staying in shape during pregnancy and after. I started Aqua class 2 weeks ago and intend on going every week, its so much fun and so good for you and the baby and you don’t have to feel uncomfortable .Also had a pregnancy massage with Nina yesterday and it was great. My first ever massage and it definitely wont be the last. Knowing your in safe hands, its in a very private setting and so relaxing as well. Cant wait to carry on with all the activities and pamper sessions 🙂 Thanks so much” Jade
“I had a pregnancy massage with Nina today and I can honestly say it’s the best massage I’ve ever had! I’ve suffered with neck and back pain for a long time and tried a lot of different therapies, but today’s massage was excellent. Nina is very welcoming and friendly too, and I’m looking forward to coming back.” Kirsty
“I have been having massages for the last few months leading up to my baby’s due date, I sleep amazingly after seeing Nina, she always has time to talk through any pregnancy concerns or aches and pains I may have, her knowledge and back ground as a mid wife is invaluable and gives me the reassurance that she not only wants to make me as relaxed and ‘ache’ free as possible but also ensures my ‘bump’ is comfortable and offers advise and support. Being able to lay on my tummy for an hour on her special pregnancy bed is just an added bonus. Highly recommend!” Adele
